How many users play the game? About five [laughs]. We're just not doing very well. I think our max player count is usually on Saturdays, and we get a peak of about 600 people. It's not enough for us. We're doing what we can to improve it, but it's really hard."As CS:GO grows, it’s important to consider the substantial impact an individual professional Counter-Strike player has on the health and stability of their sport," it wrote. "Performing before an audience of millions of fans, they are ambassadors for their game – the strength of professional Counter-Strike comes from the integrity of its players and teams."The ESL, which recently announced a $250,000 prize pool for the upcoming CS:GO Katowice 2015 tournament, confirmed on Reddit that it would uphold the ban. "Like the blog post said, none of these players will be able to participate or contribute in any other form to ESL One Katowice or future Majors run by us, and we are currently finalising our verdict regarding other ESL leagues and these players," ESL rep theflyingdj wrote. "We do not have any tolerance for match fixing, have always made clear in our rules that players are not to be involved with any kind of betting and will continue to work on a clean and fair competitive environment for CS:GO."

After Redline began his project, word spread and the community started to come back. Within a week of launching, he had 1,500 subscriptions. As the mod grew, it switched from being a Counter-Strike mod to an Insurgency mod, a move that gave Redline a better base to work from. New players send him messages that read like they’ve found the promised land. A few claim to be moved to tears. One player told PC Gamer that he’s seen lifelong console gamers build or buy a PC just to play SOCOM online again.Right now, the mod is moving through alpha and approaching a beta release early next year. The biggest change, the switch in perspective from first person to third person, is in place and stable. The coming weeks will see new competitive features and more maps added. At the mechanical level, though, the game already feels like SOCOM. “It is the [mod] on the market that is the closest to the original SOCOM games,” Mike, one of the active community members, told PC Gamer. “A few more tweaks to the gameplay, mainly the animations, and this mod will be as true to original SOCOM gameplay.”The overarching policy is that the refund in question must be made within 14 days of purchase, and you cannot have more than two hours played with any game. However, even when falling outside of this requirement, Valve will still “take a look” and see if anything can be done.On July 9th, Montreal is hosting the ESWC Counter-Strike: GO World Finals, and OPSkins will be the main sponsor, investing $100,000 in the event. “It’s huge for our city,” said Minacov.

Valve oddly makes betting incredibly easy in the game itself. One can buy cases that have randomly won weapons upon opening, which the keys to open also cost money. Those weapon skins can be easily transferred to third-party pools, or websites, to be either sold or put into a ‘pot’ to be won by betting on different professional and semi-professional CSGO matches. There is a wide variety of websites that offer ways to use your weapon skins as collateral, and currency, to gamble and place bets.Launched in January 2015, OPSkins Group Inc. intended to take advantage of the growing demand for a safe way to trade skins for money. The site partnered with BitPay in August last year and since then it has seen an ever-increasing demand for bitcoin transactions. Not long after launching, OPSkins saw a demand for bitcoin payments for CS:GO virtual items. This is not an uncommon thing nowadays for virtual item trades Team Fortress 2 trading site Dispenser.tf provides bitcoin trades. On the other side of legitimacy, Star Trek Online “gold seller” Divine Treasury accepts bitcoins for in game items (although this is against the terms of service). In competitive matchmaking, meanwhile, your team is now able to vote for a 60-second timeout if the stress is all getting a bit much for you.To be fair to the top-dollar games, Valve puts Global Offensive on sale (and it's cheap!) more often than most of us boot up our computers, so it goes without saying that it automatically has a great chance of selling well. But "selling well" is an understatement: it sold a staggering 5.6 million copies in 2015 alone - and that's just since SteamSpy began tracking the activations in April. Grand Theft Auto V, which many were eagerly awaiting on a PC release for, sold 3.6 million. I think Rockstar will be pleased with that extra few hundred million in its pockets.

But the good news is, for the most part, Valve will give your dosh back if you’re unhappy.Outside the remarkable demand for trading, CS: GO betting has become an addiction for thousands of players, and is centered around waging with skins. Websites like BetCSGO, CSGORumble, and CSGOLounge enjoy hundreds of thousands if not millions of visitors per month as an increasing number of users find interest in watching professional players, gambling on who they believe will win in certain matches, and hopefully reaping the rewards of their efforts.

Hidden Path and Valve faced a daunting task: making everyone happy. Appeasing not one, but two communities who are resistant to change is difficult enough without also having to woo people who didn’t grow up on Counter-Strike. “There were players who felt that CS 1.6 was a superior experience for their play style and there were other players who felt like CS:S was the best game for their play style,” says Pobst. “Sadly those two groups were very segmented and didn’t play together. We started having a lot of discussions with Valve about what a product might look like—if it was even possible—that would become the favorite version of Counter-Strike for both existing player groups as well as for new players. And that was the main design focus behind most every decision that went into the development of CS:GO.”counter-Strike: Global Offensive's weapon skin economy is a vitally important part of the game for its health and continued popularity. Some of these are so rare they're worth upwards of a thousand dollars, so the community and Valve take messing with them very seriously. However, duping is still occuring and some are predicting a serious problem if it isn't fixed soon.questa nuova aggiunta puramente estetica ci sono stati altri cambiamenti inerenti il gameplay come ad esempio colori diversi per ogni compagno di squadra sul radar nella competitive mode, o sempre in quest’ultima le sagome dei nemici saranno differenti da quelle dei compagni, mentre forse la più importante al livello tattico è la possibilità di lanciare le granate a diversa distanza cambiando la modalità di fuoco da primario a secondario. Ulteriori modifiche sono state fatte ad alcune armi per renderle più bilanciate, ma se siete curiosi di scoprire tutte le modifiche apportate dall’update potrete trovare il changelog completo a questo indirizzo.ust, Facepunch’s willy simulator (and survival crafting game), has just received a chunky update. It introduces a Team Fortress 2-style Steam Inventory integration system, ladies, new armour sets and a freelook mode. But if you crane your neck around the massive conga line of people who have discovered Global Offensive, you’ll remember that, oh right, it was born as a port—partly meant to put Counter-Strike onto the previous generation of consoles before the end of their lifespan. When Valve and Hidden Path brought CS:GO to PAX in 2011 they demoed it exclusively on Xbox 360 and talked up, no joke, cross-platform play between PC and PS3 as a major feature (which was cut before release).

“In terms of hardware design and processing power, Wii U cannot be compared with PS4 or Xbox One,” says Leadbetter. “Nintendo invested in the innovative touchscreen GamePad controller instead of the core tech, but it’s really difficult for multiplatform game developers to scale back PS4/Xbox One titles to less capable silicon, and also to invest time and resources into gameplay modes that it cannot deploy on the other systems.”The support email tells Souvlis to install free anti-malware software and review Steam’s account security FAQ. “To further protect your account, you will be unable to trade or use the Community Market for a period of time.” When I launch CS:GO and my eyes wander over my ever-growing pile of Hours Played, a thought often eats away at me. I’ve put hundreds of hours into Terrorisming and Counter-Terrorisming—thousands if you include Source and 1.6. I spend more time playing CS:GO than I do interacting with my loved ones. How the hell am I not a Counter-Strike master yet? That’s pretty damn cool. Although if I was Gabe, I’d probably prefer it if the internet stuck to making videos of me as a discount-granting Jesus. This is a guest contribution by Adam Stevens of CustomEsports, If you would like to submit a contribution please contact Bill Beatty for submission details. Thank you.I've solo-queued with so many people who see eco rounds are an invitation to play lackadaisically. You've got pistols, they've got rifles—let's just get this over with, right? In high-level competitive play, though, eco rounds regularly go the way of the underdog. Part of that is because pro players are so comfortable with pistols, but the other half of that is their mindset: they see eco rounds as an opportunity to gut their opponent's economy rather than a round that they're pre-destined to lose. If pistols had a popularity contest, the P250 would win. It's beloved for a reason: it's a $300 weapon that can kill with a single headshot at close range. It's more versatile and more accurate than the Deagle in most situations. But if the Deagle or Five-Seven somehow speak to how you play Counter-Strike (and you don't mind buying one fewer grenade next round to offset the cost), go for it. There's plenty of math you can hold up as evidence, but I'm a big believer in the idea that you're going to perform best with the weapon you feel the most confident with.
